To provide a seamless, zero-brokerage room search experience, we collect information that helps personalize your search and verify listings:

• Account Info: When you log in or register (including Google Sign-In), we store your name, email address, profile photo, and authorization tokens.
• Listing Details: If you post a listing, we collect property locations, pricing, BHK, pictures, and description.
• Location Data: Geolocation parameters derived from map interactions or GPS coordinates to suggest rooms nearby.

We use cookies, local storage, and similar session tracking mechanisms to enhance your experience:

• Session Storage: Storing temporary search queries, map filter configurations, and viewport parameters.
• Cookies: Maintaining secure authentication state so you do not need to sign in repeatedly.
• Local Storage: Storing user preferences, recently viewed properties, and cached search locations to speed up map loading.

Your information helps us maintain a trustworthy peer-to-peer ecosystem:

• Displaying listings properly on our interactive maps.
• Letting tenants call or query listing hosts directly without intermediaries.
• Detecting spam listings, fraudulent profiles, or double-brokered posts.
• Sending transactional notifications regarding listing status.

To render maps, perform geo-searches, and provide secure database routing, we transmit specific non-identifiable parameters to external services:

• Map & Geocoding Integrations: Location search coordinates and geographic query parameters are shared with Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) to resolve and render room locations on your screen.
• Authentication & Storage: User authentication tokens, profile details, and property pictures are managed securely using Firebase (Google Cloud Infrastructure).
• Analytics: Traffic data may be collected via basic site optimization analytics platforms to improve server performance. We do not sell or lease location data to ad-retargeting brokers.

We retain collected information only as long as necessary to maintain the discovery service:

• Listings: Retained until deactivated or deleted by the listing owner, at which point the listings are purged from public map searches immediately.
• Account Details: Retained for the lifetime of your active account. If you request account deletion, we completely purge all profile details, Google Auth session tokens, and saved stays from our production database within 7 days.

We store credentials securely using Firebase/Google standards, token-based verification routes, and HTTPS encryption. While we employ strict protection rules, no method of digital storage or data transit is 100% secure.

You are in control of your data:

• Access & Deletion: You can download or edit your listing, or request total account deactivation.
• Opt-out: You can refuse location permissions in your browser. The platform will fall back to manual city selection.
• Children's Privacy: RoomMaps is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect or store any information from individuals under 18 years of age.
